Don't bin it bring your electrical items to your local Recycling Centre

It's that time of year again. The start of the Festive season and online sales. This black Friday or cyber Monday don't forget how to dispose of electricals safely.

From kettles to cameras, from battery-operated toys to toasters, from power drills to mobile phones, you can recycle the lot!

It's easy - just take them with you next time you visit your local recycling centre

Batteries too, pop them in a clear plastic bag next to your recycling box and they will be collected from the kerbside.

Is it an electrical item?

It's easy to check if an electrical item, toy or game is recyclable if it has reached the end of its working life. Simply ask the following questions and if the answer is yes, to any of these, it is recyclable:

Does it have a plug?
Does it use batteries?
Does it need charging?
Does it have a picture of a crossed out wheelie bin on it?

Small Electricals

Lots of items fall into this category including alarm clocks; CD/DVD players and game consoles; small kitchen appliances such as kettles, toasters and blenders; personal grooming products like hairdryers, straighteners, electric toothbrushes and shavers; garden tools such as lawnmowers and shredders; other items such as lamps, torches, vacuum cleaners, phones, radios, TVs, printers, laptops, cameras and smoke alarms.
