Welcome
Wecome to this Autumn edition of the Joint Training Newsletter which will give you some insight into our recent activities.
Customers may have noticed that we have an attractive new logo - this has been designed by James Hudson and Melanie Basford from the Joint Training team in conjunction with David Hall-Salter from the Shropshire Council Communications Team - we are delighted with the logo which truly reflects the role and purpose of Joint Training.
We also have a new refreshed Joint Training website where you will find all the latest information in relation to our courses, additional resources, bespoke training etc. There is also a very interesting trainer profile section where the individual trainers introduce themselves - their enthusiasm for the job really shines through and we are very lucky to have such dedicated and professional people working within the team.

This event was attended by over 40 learners
from the Independent Sector, Community Health, Acute Hospitals, Severn Hospice,
Shropshire Council and Shropshire Rural Housing, representing 69 learners who
completed the Care Certificate and/or City & Guilds Awards or Certificates
with Joint Training in 2016-17. Certificates were awarded in the areas of
Dementia Care, End of Life Care at levels 2, 3 and 5 and Advocacy at level 3.
Andy Begley, Director of Adult Services and Housing, Shropshire Council
provided opening comments, Councillor Lee Chapman, Portfolio Holder for Adult
Social Care Shropshire presented the Certificates of Achievement and closing
comments. Gary Kirlew, Education Coordinator for Severn Hospice and
Palliative Care was the key note speaker talking about the benefits
of working in partnership, allowing us to achieve far more by working together
than we would separately. Gary quoted an old African saying “if you want
to travel fast go alone, if you want to travel far go together”. The evaluation
identified how Joint Training can improve and expand on what we offer and what
learners and employing organisations do differently as a result of the
training. This was a wonderful event, provided in an informal atmosphere
enjoyed by all.
