Get outdoors this half term
The weather's looking good and there's so much fun to be had in our parks, woodlands and greenspaces, so we thought we'd do a quick half term round up of what's happening across the city.

Norfolk Heritage Park overlooking the city centre
When the sun comes out we like nothing more than seeing our gorgeous green spaces full of people enjoying time outdoors (good times).
But with the people often comes the rubbish (sad times). Please respect your parks by bagging and binning or taking rubbish away with you.
Spending our resources on waste is a waste! We'd much rather spend it on making our parks the best they can be.
BBQ weather!
If you're thinking of having a BBQ in our parks please do so responsibly.
Here's some points to be aware of.
- Stay fire-safe! Take extra care as dry grass and warm weather mean the fire risk is much higher.
- All BBQs must be raised off the ground, never leave them unattended, and dispose of hot coals safely once they’ve cooled.
- BBQs are not permitted in our countryside and nature sites, such as local nature reserves or moorlands, due to the high risk of wildfires.
A sunny stroll through Sheffield Botanical Gardens
We can't quite believe the forecast for a bank holiday weekend and half term!
A friendly reminder while you're out having fun:
- Stay hydrated – drink plenty of water to keep cool throughout the day, or visit one of our lovely cafes for a refreshing treat.
- Sun protection – don’t forget your sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses to protect against those strong rays, maybe grab some shade under our beautiful trees and woodlands.
- Be mindful of others – parks can get busy, so let’s all share the space kindly and consider those around us.
- Dogs - we know that Sheffield's pooches love our parks, but please keep your dogs under control around other people and wildlife, remember our code of conduct.
Wherever you're favourite nature spot is, get out there and make the most of it.
