As Family Centre services begin to return to normal and we can increase our delivery of online services and activities that are delivered in person in the community, we would like to get your thoughts on what you would like to access.

Return to Face to Face groups
We are now running face to face groups and activities across the city including: Baby Groups, Walk and Talk, Toddler Trails, Outdoor Toddler Group, Baby Massage and Breastfeeding Groups. We have received some lovely feedback and comments from those of you that have attended and it’s been lovely to see you and your little ones engaging in activities and back in the centres.
We are now welcoming mobile babies and children in to indoor groups, if however you still wish to keep socially distanced from others we will still set up individual play mats and a basket of toys for your child if you wish to use these.
We continue to take a cautious and vigilant approach to ensure those more vulnerable to COVID-19 feel protected and safe whilst accessing vital services in our centres, in particular pregnant women and young babies.
If you are coming in to the centre or attending a Family Centre activity:
- Please do not attend the centre or a group if you show any signs or symptoms of COVID-19.
- Please wear a face covering upon entry to the building and in communal areas of the Family Centre/community building (unless exempt) and use hand sanitiser upon arrival.
- Please continue to adhere to social distancing measures in communal areas (2 metres) and when attending groups/activities be respectful of giving each other space and trying to keep to at least 1 metre distance from other adults.
We are continuing to put the following measures in place:
- All rooms will be well ventilated and cleaned daily. All mats, equipment & toys etc are cleaned after every session.
- We have based room/group capacity to allow for social distancing (1 metre in groups and activities, 2 metres in communal areas).
- We will continue to review guidance and health and safety advice.

"Parenting doesn't come with a manual! When you attend one of our parenting programmes, nobody's parenting skills are ever judged."
Being a parent is amazing, but at times we all ned practical help and advice. Our Parenting team delivers Triple P, Incredible Years, and Empowering Parents, Empowering Communities (EPEC) programmes across Sheffield. These are tried and tested programmes based on international research into what works for families and children.
Have you ever wondered about going to a parenting programme but not sure what it would be like? Listen to Steve here on Sheffield Parenting Programmes.
Sheffield Parent Hub What's On Guide
Your baby's almost an adult, or at least that's what he or she thinks. So, life at home can be a little strained. Maybe your 13-year-old son grunts instead of speaking to you. Or your 14-year-old daughter wants to go to parties with people you don't even know. It's not that you've got a "wild" kid. You'd just like to make sure things don't get out of hand.
If this sounds like you, then this Triple P Seminar may suit. Seminars are 90-minute talks to large groups on a number of different topics.

Did you know our 7 Family Centres have individual public group pages?
Sheffield Family Centres Facebook Groups
You can find information about groups and activities in your local community and at the centre hub in these groups. You can also use the groups to ask questions to other parents in the area, share ideas and make links within your community.
The Family Centre team took to the streets of Sheffield on Saturday 18th September and walked 24 miles between the seven Family Centre hubs. Starting at Early Days at 8.30am and finishing at Primrose Family Centre, going via First Start, Darnall Shortbrook, Valley Park and Sharrow.
The walk was in aid of raising money for Baby Basics, who support many families we work with and support across the city. Baby Basics are trying to raise funds to rent a warehouse so they are able to store and distribute more to Sheffield families.
Thanks to your support the team managed to raise and donate £1400
Heres a few highlights from the day
Local Area Committees (LACs) have launched a citywide survey to discover more about what residents think and feel locally. Your feedback will help form community plans for each area in Sheffield.
LACs give you the chance to influence decision making, share your opinions and contribute to positive changes where you live.
