We are taking a gradual and cautious approach to starting face to face groups and aim to start some groups from mid-May. We are currently seeking advice and support from health and safety and will announce the reinstatement of face to face groups as soon as possible. Until then we will continue to offer a range of services and support virtually and we are also looking at introducing some new Outdoor groups.
Although we would love to start face to face groups and return to a full timetable of face to face services from the 12th April 2021, our priority moving forward is to ensure this is done safely. We are taking a gradual and cautious approach to reduce the risk of transmission and keep families, children and staff as safe and healthy as possible.
During lockdown the Family Centre buildings have been open for midwifery and health service appointments and there continues to be an increased presence of these services in centres. We therefore need to plan the reintegration of groups around these to ensure staff and service users in Family Centre buildings remain safe and that the risk of transmission is reduced.
The government roadmap says that from the 12th April children’s indoor activities (up to 15 parents) can be reinstated , why aren’t we?
Sadly, many of our rooms in Family Centres won’t safely accommodate 15 parents. We are therefore currently auditing rooms and spaces within centres to identify how many people can safely access groups whilst adhering to social distancing (which currently remains at 2 metres).
We will keep you updated on developments over the next few weeks as to which centres will be delivering groups from Mid-May and how to book a place.
We look forward to welcoming you back in to centres as soon as it's safe to do so
