New restrictions for Sheffield have been announced by the Government in a move to further prevent the spread of the virus across the city. The new measures will mean a ban on different households mixing and are expected to be introduced in Sheffield from today (Wednesday 14).

Sheffield has been placed in the 'High' category of the Government's new three-tier Covid-19 scheme. Find out what the new rules and restrictions are and what they mean for you and your loved ones.
Covid-19 test centre sign
There are now 5 testing centres in Sheffield at the following locations:
- Local Testing Site at Sharrow
- Local Testing Site at Darnall
- Regional Testing Site at Meadowhall
- The Mobile Testing Unit based at Olympic Legacy Park has relocated to Milton Street Car Park in Broomhall.
- Local Testing Site at Burngreave
You should only book a test if you have symptoms of Covid-19. Tests must be pre-booked and can only be booked via the national NHS portal online nhs.uk/coronavirus or by calling 119. If you cannot get an appointment right away, stay at home and continue to self-isolate until an appointment comes available for you.
NHS Covid-19 app
The NHS COVID-19 app is now available and we are encouraging everyone who can to download and start using the app straight away.
It is part of the NHS Test and Trace service and has a number of tools to protect people, such as alerting people at risk of coronavirus and asking them to isolate before they potentially pass the virus on. To download the app click below.
