Information for all staff

10 January 2023

Welcome

Happy New Year, and welcome to the first edition of In the Know for 2023.

As usual, this edition is full of information that you need to know. Throughout this year we also want to share more news about the great work that you are doing to deliver our council plan. So, if you have some good news or achievements that you would like to share with your colleagues across the council, please let us know - email  internalcommunications@portsmouthcc.gov.uk

Your council news

Proud to work for PCC

Developing values that matter to you

Staff have been working on creating a set of values for the organisations that will help shape how we work together and with communities in the city.

Our values will be informed by what is important to you, as well as what is important to our residents and customers. More than 200 staff have already taken part in focus groups, talking about the values that resonate most with them.

Once that feedback has been considered, you'll all have the chance to have the final say on the values the organisation adopts through a staff survey that will be available soon, so watch this space.

Delivering our plan

'Good progress' on action plan

A team of local authority experts have found that we are making good progress on our Peer Challenge action plan.

When the Peer Challenge team visited in October 2020, they found that we are a good council that is performing well. They have just reviewed progress on the action plan we developed in response to some of their recommendations and found that overall good progress was being made.

IT news round-up

Enhanced technology

Shut down to keep up

Please remember to fully shut down your PC or laptop when you finish work every day. This is because devices can only be updated with the latest functionality and security settings when they are shut down and updates take place overnight.

IT systems downtime

All Windows servers are being updated from 7am to 3pm on Sunday 22 January. Please don’t attempt to use any computer systems during this time. This update will help ensure our IT is up to date with the latest security measures.
