Our response to coronavirus

Following Government advice that is designed to help reduce the spread of coronavirus, the council has taken a number of steps to help ensure the wellbeing of customers, staff and the wider community, while also keeping essential services running.

This means some of the services you usually use will be closed, or will be operating in a different way. We are working hard to make sure the services you rely on are available as far as we possibly can, and we are putting additional measures in place to make sure that people in at-risk groups who may be more greatly affected by the social distancing measures are supported.

We understand the changes to our services may be frustrating, but the Government advice is clear that we all need to do what we can to stop coronavirus from spreading. This is to protect the more vulnerable in our communities and to help the NHS manage the demand.

This is a rapidly changing situation, but please know we're doing all that we can to keep people informed about changes to council services, sharing the latest advice on how to keep yourself well and enabling communities to come together to help those most in need.

How you can help

We know lots of people are looking for ways to help. HIVE Portsmouth is working with Portsmouth City Council, Solent NHS Trust and Portsmouth CCG to co-ordinate groups across the city to make sure we're making the most of the resources available. At the moment, we're focusing our efforts on older and vulnerable people who are self-isolating.
