What are your thoughts on paying for policing in Essex?

 Do you want more investment in the police service and are you willing to pay more Council Tax to provide it? How do you want to #MakeADifference? These are the questions being posed by Roger Hirst, the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex.

He is asking the Council Tax payers of Essex for their opinion before he sets out plans for the 2020/2021 policing budget for the county.

PFCC responds to first HMICFRS inspection for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service

Speaking in response to the first inspection of Essex County Fire and Rescue Service by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services, Roger Hirst, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex, said: “We are pleased to have had HMICFRS undertake this independent inspection and to see that it confirms our initial assessment of the Service, the progress that they have made over the last two years and the areas where we need to improve. Importantly they have recognised the Service is good at responding to fires and emergencies and responding to national risks. This is a reflection of the Service’s hard work."

A new project is launching in Essex to help keep people safe on a night out. Drinkaware will see teams of two people – Nightlife Crews – located inside some of the county’s biggest and busiest venues to support the welfare and wellbeing of people on a night out.
