At the November landlord forum we talked about energy efficiency, grant funding and how to tackle damp and mould.
The energy efficiency grant funding schemes mentioned are all still active and we encourage you to find out if your property or your tenants may be eligible. Remember that summer is a great time to prepare your properties for winter. You can find out more from our webpages www.oxford.gov.uk/retrofit. One funding scheme, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) has changed slightly since November. The government has relaxed the eligibility criteria making it easier to access funding (up to £7500) for Air Source Heat Pumps or other non-fossil fuel heating systems via this scheme. To find out more visit https://www.gov.uk/apply-boiler-upgrade-scheme.
We are still working to find ways to support landlords to access good quality information and support on improving energy efficiency in the private rental sector. To help us with this we ask that you please spare 5 minutes to answer some quick questions about energy efficiency and your rental properties.
Energy Efficiency Quick Survey
Please spare 5 minutes to share your views on energy efficiency in your rental properties
Retrofitting is the process of making changes to a property to improve energy efficiency, such as installing solar panels, loft insulation, wall insulation, heat pumps, better windows and more. Oxford City Council is working to identify ways to make retrofitting easier for Oxford residents and in particular landlords. To help us do this, we would love to find out what you know about retrofitting and what it means to you and your business.
We currently have a project called A House Like Mine which is creating engagement materials for residents and landlords. These materials will be available later in the summer and will demonstrate what retrofit options are available for particular house types. We look forward to sharing these materials with you in due course.
CLICK HERE TO COMPLETE THE SHORT SURVEY
This survey will be used to measure the impact of the materials from the A House Like Mine project, gather a baseline of knowledge on retrofit issues and gain an understanding of the barriers to retrofit in Oxford for landlords. The survey will support in setting the scope of retrofit engagement and for developing a local retrofit strategy to support landlords.
The survey is open until 20 June 2024. You can also use the below QR code to complete the survey.
