A Green Homes Grant of up to £5,000 is available to private or social tenants where the following eligibility criteria is met:
-Household income of less than £30,000 per year
-Low EPC rated property, scoring D or lower
Note: landlords must contribute one third of the cost of the energy improvement works and the deadline is end of March 2022.

The Council sends HMO licence renewal reminders about 2 months before the expiry date. There is no legal obligation on the council to send a renewal reminder.
A valid renewal application must be made before the licence expires as stated in the Housing Act 2004 and associated regulations. A valid renewal application consists of:
- A completed application form
- Signed declaration
- Stage one fee payment
If you wish to apply for a two or five year licence, then it is your responsibility to:
- Make a valid application
- Send in the two / five year checklist
- Send all required safety certificates. Please note, from March 2022 the renewal reminders will not state which certificates are missing. It is your responsibility to ensure certificates are obtained as they expire.
- Complete the above steps at least two weeks before the expiry date
We do not send reminders to explain some documentation is missing.
