The summer of 2026 is is one for the record books with heatwaves and the wildfires dominating the headlines. We hope you've enjoyed walking the path when it's been safe, in the cooler periods and enjoyed a respite from the hot weather. Cooler weather is just around the corner! This issue includes:

During September, you can visit some of Wales' historic buildings (cared for by Cadw) offering free entry, events and guided tours (Open Doors). It's the perfect opportunity for a stroll on the path and explore somewhere new - maybe local to you. Find an event near you

Explore the path between Aberystwyth and Aberporth (37 miles) using the T5 TrawsCambria bus for £6.50 (valid 24 hours from purchase). Start your journey from the university town of Aberystwyth and head south towards Aberaeron to explore the harbour and admire the pastel coloured buildings.
Then pop into New Quay, where the sculpture on the green overlooking the harbour, marks the official half way point of the path. Next is Aberporth, great for sandy beaches and scenic views of Cardigan Bay to round off your trip. Read more info about services and tickets

Many nature reserves cross the path and Newport Wetlands Nature Reserve, Newport is one of them - a popular place to relax in nature away from city hustle and bustle. Do the Orchid Trail, an accessible 1 mile route to look for special orchids during late summer. Remember to go back in late autumn to watch the spectacle of the starling murmurations at dusk. Accesible boardwalk at Newport Wetlands National Nature Reserve
The official app has a map showing where the path goes and where you are on the path. Record your walks whilst on the path or add them into the app later - handy if you're too tired after a long day walking.
The app will help prevent getting lost on the path and tracks your progress - showing how much of each region you have completed and of the entire path - handy to know where else you need to tick off! More details about the app (available on iOS and Android).
Read the latest business bulletin (Autumn) dedicated to helping to maximise business opportunities on the path. Access free, easy to use and downloadable partner marketing materials to generate more footfall and be seen by more customers from the path.
