Sand dunes - you've probably come across a few of them on your walks on the path. They're ideal places to shelter and rest on a walk or an amazing leg workout - you decide!
These wildlife hotspots are great for spotting nature at it's best, like marsh orchid and dune pansy along with skylarks, butterflies, rare mining bees and other endangered insects. On International Sand Dune Day (25th June), find a sand dune near you and relax in nature.

A stroll on the path followed by excellent local food and drink to round off your walk - what's not to like? The Llwybr Bwyd Mor / Seafood Trail is Wales' answer to Cornwall where you can sample the best seasonal caught seafood here in north west Wales.
The seafood trail project aims to link seafood vendors along the coast of Eryri and Llyn with links to Wales Coast Path circular walks.
Not into seafood? Don't worry, the vendors offer other tasty culinary delights to tantalise your tastebuds. Find out more about Seafood Trail

We've been busy mapping the entire path to give a virtual, interactive representation using Google Street View on Google Maps, available later this year. You can already see some sections of the path like Flintshire, Gwynedd, Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. (Image below: Criccieth castle, Gwynedd on Google Street View)
It's a very useful tool to help you research the path in more detail, before you even stepped out of the house. Use the Google "Street View" function in Google maps to:
- see what the path surface looks like and nearby surroundings with a 360 degree view
- find places to eat, drink and stay and parking places
- familiarise yourself with the area you'll be walking
- research accessible sections on the path
TOP TIP: Keep a paper map with you as a back up just in case the technology fails.
We love finding places to eat and drink after a good day walking. Wales offers some of the best culinary delights in the UK, where a warm Welsh welcome is standard practice. Check out our latest blog A Foodie Guide to the Wales Coast Path featuring cosy cafes to stunning coastal restaurants on or near the path, using quality local produce. Have we missed a hidden gem?
