It's officially Spring and we're already enjoying the lighter evenings and even a bit of sunshine. We hope you get some time over the Easter break and the Bank Holidays to rest and recharge with family and friends. May is National Walking month - have a browse through our itineraries and start your path journey with a spring in your step!

May is National Walking Month - our favourite month of the year! The path is 870 miles / 1,400km long which is a very long path, but don’t worry, we’ve got lots of ideas on where to start. With over 100 itineraries to choose from, here’s a handy list on where to start your Wales Coast Path journey:

Circular walks - ideal if you’ve only one car or want to use public transport. These circular walks are also brilliant if you want to explore a bit further afield off the path.

Multi Day itineraries – Make the most of the Bank Holidays this year with our multi-day itineraries (3 days) which range from 25-30 miles of coastal walking. Packed with places to base yourself,points of interest and ideas on transportation, these itineraries are perfect for a long weekend of exploring the path.

Family Friendly – Try these walks if you have young kids with lots of energy. Most of the family walks are about 2-3 miles with ideas for things to do along the way.

Castles and a walk – A must for those interested Wales' historic past. Our Cadw walks link in with Cadw properties (some charge an entrance fee).

Accessible walks –These sections of the path are ideal for mobility equipment and buggies.

Make the most of your time on the path with our top tips:
- Know before you go – Use our interactive map to see where the path goes and plan your route
- Download our app – Our app shows you where you are on the path and will tell you if you stray off the path. It also records all of your walks so you can a tack of your progress. More info about the app
- Sign up to Ordanance Survey maps - All of our circular walks are now on OS maps online. Register for free a OS Maps account and download the OS Maps app to see our circular routes, download a GPX fie, and rate them! Look for walks starting with Llywbr Arfordir Cymru / Wales Coast Path.
- Respect, Protect and Enjoy the great outdoors - Brush up on the Countryside Code – a set of guidance for everyone to enjoy the great outdoors even more.
- Passports – Take a look at our passports to research where you can walk on the path. There’s a passport for each region with a handy tick list of the locations - ideal starting place to look for places to drink, eat and rest your weary legs. View the passports
- From Rail to Trail - Consider using the trains to walk some sections of the path - get a different perspective of the Welsh coastline. Walk nearly 100miles of the path using the Cambrian Line or find your way from the train stations to the path to start your journey!

The Easter break is nearly here and it’s the ideal opportunity to make the most of the better weather and have a break from the daily grind. Take the opportunity to take a peek into the past and visit some of the sacred heritage sites along the path – from churches to chapels. Are you a business along the path?
