NEW! Updated Wales Coast Path app

The official app for the Wales Coast Path has been updated to make it easier to walk the path. Brand new features include:  

• Add walks you've done in the past to the app 
• Export all recorded walks to a ZIP fle for transfer to a new device
• Saves on battery life

It can also show you whether you are on the path or not and tracks your progress per section and overall on the path. If you're in the mood for exploring more, the app suggests other routes further along the path as well as places of interest to make the most of your time on the path. Available for iOS and Android. Download the app ready for your path adventures! 

Refill your bottle on the go

16th June is World Refill Day and highlights the importance of ditiching single use plastic. We recommend staying hydrated whilst on the path - even more important during the warmer months. You can refill your water bottles at water refill points along the path, which can save carrying lots of heavy supplies with you. The Refill Wales app shows you where the nearest water refill point is to you.

Sand dune walks

29th June is World Sand Dune Day and it wouldn't be a coast path without coming across a sand dune or two. These landmarks are a wildlife haven for flowers like the marsh orchid or the occasional lizard basking in the sunshine. They can also be a welcome pit stop to just sit, relax and recharge your batteries ready for your onward journey. Walking the path with buses

Fflecsi bus service in Pembrokeshire (Transport for Wales)

Planning your walk on the path can be quite overwhelming especially when it comes to transportation . Don't worry there are a a few bus services that serve the coastline  that can help you at the end of a long day of walking. Here's a round up: 

• Pembrokeshire - Two coastal buses are back this summer - the Strumble Shuttle (service 404) and the Puffin Shuttle (service 400). The Coastal Cruiser (service 387/388) will revert to its summer timetable. The 3 bus services run from 25th May to 29th September 2024. See coastal bus timetables
• Pembrokeshre Fflecsi bus service - the former 405 Poppit Rocket bus now comes under the Fflecsi bus service. It operates along the coast between Fishguard and Cardigan,  between Monday to Saturday. 
• Llyn Pensinula Fflecsi bus servce - This popular bus service runs between Nefyn and Pwllheli, from Thursday to Sunday. As with all Fflecsi buses, they will pick you up at a convenient locations as close as possible to where you are. 

Did you know? Traveline Cymru is the public transport information service in Wales - lots of walkers use this to plan their path journeys on buses and trains. It has useful features like a journey planner, timetables and travel map showing all the bus stops and train stations. Perfect for working out where you can start or finish your walk. Useful tips for enjoying the great outdoors

Getting lots of fresh with nature and exploring the great outdoors is a great way to look after yourself, mentally and physically.  From knowing to leave gates as you find them, planning your route beforehand  (we hate getting lost!) and knowing how to behave around livestock, with and without your four legged friend.
