new section of path around Penrhyn Estate, Bangor, north Wales
After 5 years of work to complete, a newly opened path now allows access to a beautiful section of the Welsh coastline previously unavailable to the public.
The path used to go inland around Tal-y-bont and the Penrhyn estate, near Bangor. It now follows the edge of the estate for a more coastal experience with views over the Menai Strait, unseen views of Anglesey and Penrhyn docks.
Well done Cyngor Gwynedd Council for all their hard work in achieving one of the most significant realignment projects since the opening of the Wales Coast Path in 2012. View the new route on Google Street View
Did you know we have a wide range of official Wales Coast Path merchandise to remember your time on the path by?
We’ve got completion certificates and badges for when you’ve finished sections (we even have a gold certificate for the entire path!).
There’s cosy warm hoodies, a varity of headwear and organic cotton t-shirts with bespoke Welsh designs.
Ideal as a treat for yourself or a good luck garment for future travels - we got you covered.

 Filkin's Drift folk music duo
CERDD//ED is music tour with a difference. In Welsh, “cerdd” means music and cerdded means to walk.
Folk duo, Seth and Chris of “Filkin’s Drift” are on a mission to approach touring in a more sustainable way. They will be walking sections of the Wales Coast Path en route to performing their gigs in community venues along the path.
Seth and Chris aim to combine a sense of a place with their music, whilst bringing communities closer to share experiences of the Welsh coast.
There are 40 gigs, booked in a variety of community venues this September and October. We’ll definitely be following these two on their tour!
