We’ve picked five walking trails in our woodlands and National Nature Reserves where you can enjoy seasonal colours this autumn.
The walks include shorter, level woodland walks ideal for families with young children and a steep climb to a viewpoint in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Every walk is waymarked and graded to give an indication of its difficulty, and there is an information panel at the start of the route.

In September we installed a new Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) parking payment system in our car park at Coed Moel Famau.
The ANPR camera reads your vehicle registration number on arrival. You pay the parking charge on departure and are charged for the length of time you park.
If you visit often you may like to buy a season ticket which also includes some of the other car parks in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. To buy a season ticket go to the visitor centre at Loggerheads Country Park (on the A494 near the Coed Moel Famau car park) or email loggerheads.countrypark@denbighshire.gov.uk

From splashing in puddles to hunting for bugs, there’s nothing quite like the freedom of playing outdoors – and there's plenty of outdoor fun to be had in this half term at the places we look after.
Many of our woodlands and National Nature Reserves are accessible for the whole family, making them a great place to enjoy spending time together and to discover some of Wales’s wonderful wildlife.
Some places also have family-friendly facilities like play areas, easy cycling trails and pushchair friendly walking trails. And our visitor centres have cafés and toilets for when you need a quick pit stop.
