Major Oak Woodland Festival

The Major Oak Woodland Festival
13 - 14 September, Sherwood Forest Country Park 

Come along to this family friendly event and try your hand at various country crafts. Meet bodgers, windsor chair makers, charcoal producers, wood turners, archaeologists, conservation organisations and, of course, the Wild Man of the Woods. There will also be displays of modern day woodland management techniques.

Inappropriate or excessive speed is one of the main factors in fatal road accidents.

Did you know...

  • in 2009, 4,187 people were killed or seriously injured nationally in crashes where speed was a factor
  • the risk of death is approximately four times higher when a pedestrian is hit at 40mph than at 30mph
  • fatal accidents are four times as likely on rural roads as urban roads.
