We wanted to let you know about some great events coming up at Worksop
Library over the next few weeks. From a girls’ night in with an
award-winning women’s writer, and live
jazz with author John Harvey, to graffiti
art and manga
workshops for young people, it’s looking to be a great start to 2014!

We’re all set for a girls’ night in next week as award-winning
writer, Sue Moorcroft, joins us live at the library on Tuesday 4 February.
Don’t miss the chance to meet the author behind romantic reads
such as Is This Love?
and Love and Freedom, and
find out more about her work and life as a writer.
As well as award-winning novels, Sue has also written fiction for
women’s magazines, including Woman’s Weekly, and is a writing tutor – so if
you’ve ever fancied putting pen to paper and want some inspiration, or simply
enjoy a good love story, then you’ll love this!

Thursday 6 & Thursday 13 February, 4.45pm – 7pm Free
Urban artist Kid30 joins us for two brilliant graffiti art
workshops for 13 – 19 year olds. In the first session, they’ll create a piece
of graffiti art using their own name, before working together on a group
design.
These free workshops take
place at our HeadSpace Young People’s sessions, and are open to all 13 – 19
year olds who fancy getting creative with urban art.
Places are limited, so make sure you book yours at the library!

Love graphic novels and comics? Then this is the event
for you! Includes:
11.30am: A chance to meet graphic novelist and cartoonist ‘Brick’, aka John Clark, who joins us to talk about his work and gives us
an insight into the genre.
1pm: A manga drawing workshop for 13
– 19 year olds, with artist Hoshi-Kou (Emma Brindley). Create your own manga characters
and develop styles and techniques. Book your place at the library and don’t
miss out on this inspirational free workshop.

it’s National Libraries Day today - so where better to spend your Saturday than
at our fantastic Worksop Library?

We’re excited to welcome author John Harvey for the first jazz gig of 2014.
John will be reading extracts of his fiction and poetry to the
accompaniment of the band Blue
Territory. Definitely one
not to be missed by music and book lovers alike!

you haven't experienced jazz live at the library yet, it’s time to find
out what you’ve been missing. We’re expecting this to be extremely popular so
booking is strongly advised! In collaboration with Jazz Steps.

with a mix of funny stories, poetry and songs. For 7 – 11 year olds and
