Colliery Welfare Brass Band at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre
Sunday 22 December, 12 noon - 2pm - Free
The visitor centre will be filled with tuneful melodies by players of the Kirkby Colliery Welfare Brass Band. Enjoy your favourite carols and other seasonal tunes. Car park charge applies. For more information call 01623 823 202. Suitable for wheelchair users.
Boxing Day Revival Walk at Sherwood Forest Visitor Centre
Thursday 26 December, 11.30am - 1pm
If your head's a bit fuzzy or you think you may have overdone the excesses of the festive period, this is your chance to breathe in some fresh air and enjoy the great outdoors! Booking is recommended on 01623 823 202 or simply turn up and pay on the day. Adults £3, children £1.50. Free car parking today!
 Boxing Day and New Year's Day Lunch at Rufford Abbey Country Park
Thursday 26 December and Wednesday 1 January
Sit back, relax and let us do the hard work for you. Choose from our Winter Carvery Menu (no need to pre-order) and your seating times are 12 noon or 2pm. Prices start from £9.95 for a main course. A £10 deposit per adult is required at the time of booking. Call 01623 821 310 to book.
Bird-ringing demonstration at Rufford Abbey Country Park
Saturday 11 January, 8am - 12 noon - Free
Join the members of the Birklands Ringing Group as they operate a ringing station in the wetland area. Get close up views of birds in the hand as they are ringed, aged and sexed before being released unharmed back into the wild. Please note that in the event of poor weather this event may be cancelled at short notice. Free car parking.

Changes to opening hours
 Rufford Abbey Country Park will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve and will be closed for all of Christmas day. It will reopen on Boxing day and will stay open over New Year.
Sherwood Forest Country Park will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve and will be closed for all of Christmas day. It will reopen on Boxing day until 4pm on New Year's Eve. Normal opening hours resume from 10am on New Year's Day.
Bestwood Country Park will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve and all will be closed for all of Christmas Day.
