Booster walk-in sites across Nottinghamshire
People that are eligible for booster vaccines can now walk-in to sites in Nottinghamshire to get their jab:
- King’s Mill Hospital Vaccination Site – from 16 October onwards
- Mansfield Vaccination Centre – from 16 October onwards
- Forest Recreation Ground Vaccination Site – from 21 October onwards
Booster jabs are being offered to over 50s, people aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts them at a high risk of getting seriously ill from Covid-19, and health and social care workers. There must be a six-month gap between the second jab and the booster.
The Covid-19 vaccine is safe and effective. As with any medicine, vaccines are highly regulated products. Vaccines go through several stages of lab tests and clinical trials before they are approved for use.
It is important that you get both doses of the vaccination, and if you’re eligible the booster vaccine 6 months later.
It is never too late to get your vaccine, and if you have any concerns you can talk to a healthcare professional.

As we head into the winter months it is important to make sure we are still following sensible guidance to keep each other safe. Keeping windows open to let plenty of fresh air in when we’re meeting friends and family inside is an easy way to protect each other from Covid-19.
The more fresh air in your home or other enclosed spaces means you are less likely to inhale infectious particles.

About 1 in 3 people with Covid-19 do not have symptoms but can still infect others, so regular testing remains important.
Rapid lateral flow tests are for when you don’t have symptoms and should be taken as part of the routine twice a week testing.
PCR tests are for when you have symptoms or if you have been double jabbed but in contact with someone who has tested positive
