Get protected - book your Covid-19 vaccination in Nottinghamshire

The Delta variant is spreading more widely across Nottinghamshire and the UK. The county has seen an increase in rates over the last seven days, but we must remember it is never too late to play our part and save lives.

The vaccine is the best way to protect ourselves from Covid-19 and any new variants of Covid-19. We have seen more than one million vaccinations administered in Nottinghamshire and Nottingham and more than 132,600 in Bassetlaw. However, there is a long way to go to protect everyone, and it is vital to get both doses for maximum protection.

How to book your appointment

  • Anyone aged 25 and over (or who turn 25 before 1 July 2021) can book a Covid-19 vaccine along with carers and those who are clinically vulnerable and clinically extremely vulnerable and front line health and social care workers. You can book online or call 119
  • Appointments are also available at Queen's Medical Centre and King's Mill Hospital here
  • Anyone aged 40 and over, carers, frontline health workers, and those in at-risk groups who have not had their first vaccine can walk into many locations without booking

Walk in weekend

Walk-in Covid-19 jabs are available this weekend in Nottingham and Mansfield – and anyone currently eligible is invited!

People can drop in to the Forest Recreation site, or Mansfield Vaccination Centre between 8am and 6pm and will be able to receive a Pfizer vaccine for their first dose.

Those currently eligible include any member of the public aged 25 and over as well as those who are clinically vulnerable, clinically extremely vulnerable and carers.

With temperatures set to soar over the weekend, health bosses have also urged the public to prepare for the heat by wearing a hat, putting on suncream and bringing water if they are planning on coming down to get their vaccine as people may have to queue.

Plans to deliver for Covid-19 response service in Nottinghamshire

Cllr Boyd Elliott

The Council is using Government Covid-19 funding to invest in our Local Outbreak Management Plan. That means getting the staff and resources in place to tackle new variants or outbreaks across the county, supporting residents to get back to normality as restrictions lift, and working to prevent the kinds of situations we’ve seen in some other areas of the country.

Testing and vaccination uptake survey

Online survey

Thanks to everyone who has taken part in our testing and vaccination survey so far. We’re still keen to hear from other people who receive a Direct Payment or Personal Health Budget and employ their own staff. The results will help us understand more about testing and vaccination uptake and the barriers Personal Assistants (PAs) face. This will also support communication with PAs on these issues. All responses are confidential.

Beat the heat!

Stay safe in the sun

The much anticipated Euro 2020 commences tomorrow, and we're sure many residents are keen to watch the football outside with the fantastic weather expected over the weekend. We want to remind you that a heatwave can be dangerous, and you must stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water throughout the day. When you're watching the game or spending a lot of time outdoors, you can slip on a shirt, slop on the suncream and slap on a hat!

For further tips on how to stay safe in the sun, Public Health England has produced a poster on coping with heat and Covid-19.

NHS heatwave advice

Are you lucky enough to attend a rescheduled Euros match? The Government has published guidance for anyone travelling under the new Covid-19 rules.

Actions you can take to protect yourself and loved ones

Watching the game at home? Let fresh air in

We can reduce our risk of catching coronavirus and passing it on to others with the following guidance:

  • wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitiser regularly throughout the day
  • wear a face covering in indoor places where social distancing may be difficult and where you will come into contact with people you do not usually meet
  • stay at least 2 metres away from people you do not live with or who are not in your support bubble
  • try to meet others outside, but if you do meet inside, make sure it is well ventilated. Open windows and doors, or take other action to let in plenty of fresh air.

Stop the spread
