10 millionth Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) milestone

The distribution of PPE equipment has come a long way since the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic and to date, more than 10 million items of PPE have been delivered to services in need.

Nottinghamshire County Council has supported the distribution of PPE equipment as a partner in the Local Resilience Forum (LRF), a multi-agency partnership of local public services.

The PPE equipment has been delivered to a range of sectors including over 6 million items to the Adult Social Care sector and nearly 1.5 million items to GP surgeries. PPE has also been delivered to Nottinghamshire residents who are receiving care at home from a Personal Assistant.

Stay safe this Easter

There are changes to the current rules in place as part of Step 1 of the Roadmap out of lockdown.

Outdoors, including in private gardens, you can meet up to six people from any number of households (the Rule of 6) or in a group of any size from up to two households are allowed, making it easier for friends and families to meet outside.

It is still important to practise social distancing with anyone outside of your household or support bubble.

Workplace testing for businesses

Sarah getting a Covid-19 test

Businesses of all sizes have an important role in beating Covid-19, by identifying cases early and reducing the risk of spreading the virus. Employers can order free rapid lateral flow tests to test their employees twice a week in the workplace.

Further information

If businesses can't offer testing in the workplace they can direct their employees to local community test sites.

Clinically extremely vulnerable people no longer advised to shield

Shielding

Shielding for the most clinically extremely vulnerable people in England ended on 31 March.

Letters have been sent from central government to those people in this group with advice to keep social contacts at low levels, to continue to work from home wherever possible and to stay a safe distance from other people.

We're aware that some will understandably have mixed feelings about these changes and our online Community Hub remains open for those still in need of support.

Changes to registration services

Weddings

Nottinghamshire’s registration offices are now able to host wedding and civil partnership ceremonies with up to six people in attendance, which excludes registration staff.

All of our registration offices have strict social distancing measures in place.

There is currently a limited availability of birth registration appointments. Parents can speak to our registrations team and book by calling 0300 500 8080.

Minimise the number of journeys you make where possible

Easter travel guidance

Travelling over Easter? Help to minimise the risks of Covid-19 transmission. Whether you're travelling by car or on public transport remember to plan ahead and avoid busy times and routes.

If travelling by car, avoid sharing a car with anyone outside of your household or support bubble. If this isn’t possible, open the windows, wear a face covering unless exempt, and try to leave seats free for social distancing where possible.
