New support for SMEs to help win lucrative contracts

A new online programme giving expert advice on how to be ‘tender ready’ when bidding for large-scale contracts has got the go ahead.

The support will highlight national contract opportunities to help local labour, goods and services which have been hard-hit by the pandemic to win more work.

A local paving business has welcomed the news which will help more smaller firms get a ‘foot in the door’ for supply chain opportunities.

The Government are encouraging businesses that continue to be affected by the pandemic to use the online 'business support finder' to find financial support for their business.

This includes discretionary grant funding, local restriction support grants worth up to £3,000 a month and extension of the furlough scheme.

Any business which are legally required to close and cannot operate effectively remotely, is eligible for a grant.

Greens Homes Grant available to residential landlords

If you're a residential landlord check if you are eligible for a grant of up to £10,000 from the Government's Green Homes Grant.

Grants can help fund towards the cost of making your home more energy efficient.

Improvements you can get a grant for include adding insulation or installing a low carbon heat system.

The Green Homes Grant scheme is available to residential landlords in England as well as home owners.
