The whole of Nottingham and Nottinghamshire has moved into Tier 4: Stay at Home restrictions.
This means you cannot leave or be outside of the place you are living unless you have a reasonable excuse. The Government has provided guidance on when it is reasonable to leave the place where you are living.
You cannot meet other people indoors, including over the New Year period, unless you live with them, or they are part of your support bubble. Outdoors, you can only meet one person from another household.
Parents can still take their children to school, and people can continue existing arrangements for contact between parents and children where they live apart. This includes childcare bubbles.
The rates of infection in our communities across the county are continuing to grow at a concerning rate. The impact this is having on our hospitals and the rate of infection in those aged over 60 are some of the key factors which determine how the Government decides what tier to place each area into.
We appreciate how hard the new restrictions will be for many but what is important now is that we all observe the new regulations in place, understand what they mean and explain the rules to those around us.
Whilst we're seeing in the New Year, we must avoid large gatherings of any kind and should not mix indoors with households who are not in our bubble.

The first care home residents in Nottinghamshire are receiving their Pfizer COVID vaccine today.
83-year-old June Phelps from Sutton Manor Care Home was the first Nottinghamshire care home resident to be vaccinated. June said: “I lost my husband Carl to the virus, so I’m so glad to have the vaccine. I’m relieved to have it done in his memory. I think others should go ahead and have it done – it saves lives.”
Letters are going out to over 80s across Nottinghamshire with details on where and when they can get their vaccines, so please wait to be contacted.
