Having a disability doesn’t mean you can’t foster.
While there is an emphasis on good health for foster carers, disabilities are not necessarily disqualifiers.
The most important thing is that each foster carer is able to give the right level of care to the child in their home. Some children require more care than others, and your supervising social worker will be able to assess which children would be best placed in your home. Some children may have disabilities too, and your home environment may be more suited to their needs.
If you have any questions about your specific circumstances and how fostering could work for you, contact us to chat to a member of the team.
