Beep. Beep. Local heroes coming through
The Rosie May foundation who are based in Bingham are utilising Rosie the Little Pink Tuk Tuk to help vulnerable families and residents, who are self-isolating, by training volunteers to drive the Tuk Tuk so they can deliver basic essential items, including food parcels, prescriptions, and Birthday and Anniversary cakes for elderly residents over 70+years.
Without volunteers to drive the Tuk Tuk they wouldn’t be able to carry out this work and help the local community during this challenging time. One of their amazing volunteers, Phil told us “It’s so much more than delivering items to those in need it’s about the conversation and a smile that goes with it”.
The County Council is proud to have been able to support keep the Tuk Tuk on the road with a £2k contribution from our Community Support Fund.
If you know of any community groups or volunteers who have gone the extra mile please let us know so we can share the story.
