Movember is back!

Movember runs throughout November when individuals commit to growing a moustache for 30 days, set themselves a fitness challenge for ‘Move for Movember’ or host a Movember event.

On average, men with mental health problems die 20 years earlier than the general population – compared to women with mental health problems who die 15 years earlier.

With 3 out of 4 suicides being men, that means an average of 60 suicides a year are men in Nottinghamshire.

World Antibiotic Awareness Week

Antibiotics

It’s World Antibiotics Awareness Week and we’re supporting Public Health England’s campaign to highlight the risks of antibiotic resistance.

Using antibiotics when they aren’t needed makes them less effective. Taking antibiotics encourages harmful bacteria that live inside you to become resistant. That means that antibiotics may not work when you really need them. This puts you and your family at risk of a more severe or longer illness. Take your doctor or nurse’s advice when it comes to antibiotics.

Senior health professionals have commented that if swift action is not taken, we are at risk of putting medicine back in the dark ages.
