Volunteers’ Week 2026 (1–7 June)

From Monday 1 June to Sunday 7 June, we’ll be celebrating Volunteers’ Week - a national opportunity to recognise and thank the incredible people who give their time to support our communities.

Volunteers play a vital role across the Heart of Lincs area, and this is a great chance to show your appreciation.

Volunteers Week

If you’re looking for inspiration, the Volunteers’ Week website has plenty of ideas, along with free resources and ready-to-use templates to help you get involved.

Let’s take this opportunity to celebrate the difference volunteers make every day.

Step Into Summer: Walking, Music and Midsummer Magic Across North Kesteven

This June, North Kesteven is bursting with reasons to get out and explore. ThNK Walking Festival (6–21 June) invites residents and visitors alike to discover the district’s stunning landscapes through more than 70 guided walks, from gentle strolls to themed adventures including heritage trails, nature walks and even alpaca encounters. With routes spanning towns, villages and countryside, it’s a celebration of wellbeing, community and the great outdoors.

NK Walking Fest

Rounding off the festivities, the Sleaford Midsummer Festival on Saturday 20 June (12–6pm) will transform the town centre into a vibrant hub of activity. Visitors can enjoy:

  • Live music from local bands and artists at Market Place, organised by Shug Studios
  • Free bungee trampolines, rock climbing, and other entertainment at Riverside Centre
  • Three, free films screened on an outdoor cinema at Eastgate Green
  • A celebration of history and heritage at Navigation Yard
Midsummer Fest

Together, these events highlight the very best of summer in the Heart of Lincs. Find more information and view or download the events programmes via the links below.

Make a Splash and Step into History in the Heart of Lincs

Looking for unforgettable experiences this summer? Dive into adventure at Lincoln Water Park, home to the world’s largest Hydroclimb system. Bounce, slide and splash your way across the inflatable Aqua Park or test your nerve on the thrilling ropes course, where the water below is your safety net. Perfect for families, friends and groups, it’s a high-energy day out with something for everyone.

For a slower pace steeped in heritage, try a Milling Experience at Cogglesford Watermill. Become an ‘Apprentice for an Afternoon’ as you work alongside an expert miller, learning traditional techniques and producing your own flour. With hands-on activities, fascinating history and plenty of tea and scones, it’s a truly unique way to connect with North Kesteven’s past.
