NavenBees Toddler Group and Half‑Term Fun at Mrs Smith’s Cottage

Families with toddlers are warmly invited to NavenBees, the friendly toddler group at Mrs Smith’s Cottage. Designed for ages 2–5, NavenBees takes place in our modern learning centre and offers handson fun inspired by the natural world, with rhymes, crafts and haveago gardening.

MSC Crafts

Upcoming sessions include 8 May, themed around Butterflies, and 22 May, with Outdoor Fun activities. The group costs £2.50 per child, with adults free, and there’s no need to book. You can also drop in this Friday, 24 April, 11am–12pm to join the buzz.

From 23 May, May halfterm crafts begin, launching with a Plant Sale & Swap (12–4pm) – a great chance to share plants, ideas and get your garden summerready, all while supporting the cottage.

Heritage Highlights for National Mills Weekend

Celebrate National Mills Weekend on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 May with special events at two of Lincolnshire’s muchloved mills.

Heckington Windmill

At Heckington Windmill, Sunday brings the popular George Chambers Memorial Tractor Run, with a colourful parade of vintage tractors arriving at the mill – a fantastic sight for all ages and a great way to mark the weekend.

Meanwhile, Cogglesford Watermill is teaming up with radio enthusiasts for Mills on the Air, linking heritage with modern technology as the mill takes to the airwaves as part of this national event.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to explore local heritage, enjoy family-friendly activities and support our historic mills.

Is your venue wedding ready?

A new half-day workshop is launching to support Lincolnshire venues and hospitality businesses that are planning to become, or are already, licensed as wedding venues.

Wedding Workshop

The first in a short series of Lincolnshire Weddings workshops takes place on Wednesday 13 May at the Natural World Centre, Whisby. Attendees will hear from Visit Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire County Council Registration Service and local award‑winning wedding specialist Ruby & Co.

The session will explore destination marketing, licensing requirements and practical insights to help businesses enter and grow in the weddings market.

Sleaford Midsummer Festival

On Saturday 20 June, Sleaford Midsummer Festival will bring the town centre to life with a brand-new community event. With four lively zones across the town, there will be live experiences and activities for all ages.

Expect summer sounds with Shug Studios at Market Place, family friendly entertainment at Riverside Centre and Eastgate Green, and a celebration of local heritage at Navigation Yard.

Running from around 12pm to 6pm, the event will turn the town centre into a place to relax, explore, and enjoy the very best of local talent and culture.

Full programme details, timings, and zone information will be announced soon. For now, make sure Saturday 20 June is in your diary.
