Get ready to celebrate Discover Lincolnshire Weekend (22nd & 23rd March); a fantastic opportunity to explore the rich heritage, stunning landscapes, and charming villages of the county. Whether you're a history enthusiast, nature lover, or just looking for a great day out, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Step back in time with a visit to Cogglesford Watermill in Sleaford, where you can see a working watermill in action and learn about traditional milling. Just a short distance away, Navigation House offers fascinating insights into the history of Sleaford Castle through the ages with their 'Uncovering Sleaford Castle' exhibition, featuring a virtual recreation of the Castle as well as fascinating discoveries from the recent archaeological investigations.
For aviation enthusiasts, the International Bomber Command Centre and Cranwell Aviation Heritage Museum provide moving tributes to Lincolnshire’s role in the RAF, with interactive exhibits and inspiring stories. Meanwhile, outdoor lovers can enjoy the beautiful walking and cycling routes around Whisby Nature Park, perfect for spotting local wildlife.
Discover Lincolnshire Weekend is part of English Tourism Week, a national celebration of the places, people, and experiences that make England such a fantastic destination. With free entry to many attractions and special events planned, it’s the perfect time to uncover the best of North Kesteven!

From 15th-23rd March, cycling enthusiasts of all levels are encouraged to take part in Ride Anywhere Week, a celebration of cycling and its benefits for health, wellbeing, and the environment. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or just dusting off your bike for spring, North Kesteven has some fantastic routes to explore.
One of the highlights is the Water Rail Way, a stunning 33-mile route following the River Witham from Lincoln to Boston. This peaceful, traffic-free trail takes you through beautiful countryside, passing unique sculptures and offering breathtaking views. It's perfect for a leisurely ride or a longer adventure.
For those looking to explore local heritage by bike, the Sleaford Spires and Sails trail is a must. This route takes in the iconic Heckington Windmill, the world’s only eight-sailed windmill, as well as picturesque villages, historic churches, and open landscapes that showcase the beauty of rural Lincolnshire.
With longer days and (hopefully) brighter weather, Ride Anywhere Week is the perfect time to get pedalling and discover North Kesteven on two wheels!
