May Review

With the sunshine (between the showers!) that May has brought, we’re having all the more visitors to our special corner of Lincolnshire countryside.

blackbird

This month our garden has really burst out to welcome you, from the flowerbed to our veg plot. During no mow may we’ve also taken up a piece of lawn edging to begin a wildflower border, to feed the bees and educate visitors big and small about our natural world.

Although we’ve not managed to capture such a good photo as last year’s the blackbirds have again nested in our hedgerows and their babies have been flitting about the cottage garden. It’s heartening to see them return to our little wildlife haven year after year.

NavenBees

This month our toddler club sessions are all about enjoying the garden. From painting in the garden on the 14th, to learning about and looking out for caterpillars on the 28th.

On the 28th you can also find our Navenby Heritage Trail led walk as part of the NK Walking Festival. Meet us at 10am at the cottage to join us. £4 per person to be paid on the day, includes tea and cake.

Please note this means we are fully booked until 1pm to allow our walkers to enjoy the cottage too.

Home Guard Exhibition

Don’t forget our Home Guard Exhibition is now open! Come along to learn more and share your memories. Included in your admission fee.
