School Visits to Mrs Smith's Cottage

Schoolchildren at the Cottage

This month is packed full of school visits to the cottage. It’s fantastic to hear Key Stage 1 start to understand how lives were different in the past, and Mrs Smith is a wonderful figure to help us teach them all about the developments of the 20th Century. From being born in Queen Victoria’s reign to watching man land on the moon, life has grown leaps and bounds from her childhood.

Navenby Christmas Tree Switch On

Xmas tree

Friday 24th November 5pm-8pm

We won’t be open during this event but it’s lovely to see our wonderful village is getting into the Christmas spirit.

Being a woman of devout faith, Christmas was a significant time of year for Mrs Smith and would have been celebrated at her beloved Navenby Methodist Chapel. That is in between welcoming all her visitors at the cottage, of course!
