How did you celebrate Lincolnshire Day?

Lincs Rising

Lincolnshire Day was first celebrated in 2006 to celebrate all things Lincolnshire, and it also marks the date of the Lincolnshire Rising in 1536 which led Henry VIII to quite wrongly describe Lincolnshire as "The most brute and beastly shire of the whole realm..."!

Inspired to explore the area after this great review?!

Continue exploring the area throughout October - for those who enjoy an autumnal walk don't forget the series of Stepping Out Walks are available to download for free from the Hill Holt Wood website.

Destination Lincolnshire Tourism Awards 2022

With double the number of entries from the 2020 awards and across 15 categories, judges have been busy scoring submissions and selecting the finalists from across the county to recognise and celebrate the fantastic tourism offer across Lincolnshire.

The Awards Evening will be hosted by Lincs FM presenter John Marshall at Lincoln Engine Shed on Friday 21st October, and we at Heart of Lincs are delighted to be sponsoring the Pub of the Year category.

Find the full list of finalists here, and best of luck to all the nominees!

Advertising in our 2023 Heart of Lincs Visitor Guide

Vis Guide

Following on from the success of the 2022 Heart of Lincs Visitor Guide, the Heart of Lincs team are currently compiling the 2023 edition.

Produced annually, the popular and successful FREE guide contains helpful information for visitors and residents of North Kesteven and surrounding areas, including ideas on great places to eat & drink, places to stay, walking & cycling information and events & things to do in the area.

The District Council backed publication is a great low-cost way to advertise your business or venue for a whole year; over 7,000 copies of the guide are provided free of charge to retail, visitor attractions, hotels, self-catering, parks and other high footfall venues in the county, and copies can be downloaded from www.heartoflincs.com, www.visitlincolnshire.com and www.visitlincoln.com.

Advertising prices start from just £45, and you’ll also get a listing for your venue on the Heart of Lincs website and the opportunity to promote any special events on the Events Calendar free of charge.

Please email heartoflincs@-n-kesteven.gov.uk for more information or to book your advertising space.
