We’re open to guests on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Mondays, 12pm-4pm. Mrs Smith’s door was always open to drop-in visitors, and so are we! Due to the small size of the building we recommend booking your visit in advance to avoid disappointment.

Summer Holiday fun at the Cottage

Looking for some time well spent during the summer holidays? Mrs Smith’s Cottage is the perfect place to spark conversations across generations and spend meaningful time together as a family, whether you’re exploring the cottage or taking part in one of our family activities.

Keep up-to-date with our events list by following us on social media – we’re on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.

A Seasonal Plate

Friday 26 August at 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm

£5

Seasonal eating would have been normal throughout Mrs Smith’s life.

In the modern world we are becoming increasingly disconnected from where our food comes from, and the seasonality of the foods we eat.

This talk, run by BBC Radio Lincolnshire Sunday Snippet gardener Allotment Cooks, will give an informative overview of how to start eating seasonally in the modern world.

Book your place through our website.

Family Fun at Heckington Show

Thanks to those who came to see us at Heckington Show this year - we had a great weekend and visitors loved our Wash Day Activity and the VR Experience of the cottage.

If you missed us at the show, you can still have a go at traditional hand-washing as Mrs Smith would have done in our Washing Weekend on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st August, 12pm - 3:30pm.
