This week marks the second anniversary of our Council's declaration of a climate emergency. Since that time there’s been considerable energy and enthusiasm applied to our climate agenda.
To highlight the occasion and showcase our progress throughout the last week we have shared daily posts on social media under the banner 'Act On Climate'.
We have also set up a new website section to gather information about our climate response. It's a work in progress and will grow and evolve as we go. Visit the webpage here, for some inspiration on things you can do now to make a difference. Additionally, a new dedicated email newsletter has also been set up - you can sign up for it here: Climate Action email.
If your business is making positive changes for climate change, please get in touch with us to tell us what you are doing on climate or what you need support with. You can contact communications@n-kesteven.gov.uk directly.
Works to add new approach lanes and traffic lights at the Holdingham roundabout are now more than halfway complete. Once works are complete the new roundabout will ease congestion, increase capacity and improve traffic flow in all directions.
Please note the A17 westbound towards Newark will be closed from 7am to 6pm on Saturday, July 17, with traffic diverted via the A15 south, A153 west and A607 north.
The £8.25m A17/A153 Rugby Club Junction / A17 Holdingham Roundabout scheme is being funded by the Greater Lincolnshire Local Enterprise Partnership, North Kesteven District Council, Lincolnshire County Council and developer contributions.
The Government has updated the primary guidance for businesses in various sectors. From Step 4, legal restrictions can be lifted, all businesses can open and the government is no longer instructing people to work from home. To support businesses through this next phase, the ‘Working Safely’ guidance will continue to provide advice on sensible precautions employers can take to manage risk and support their staff and customers.
Businesses still have a legal duty to manage risks to those affected by their business. The way to do this is to carry out a health and safety risk assessment, including the risk of COVID-19, and to take reasonable steps to mitigate the risks you identify.
You should use the guidance to consider the risk within your premises and decide which mitigations are appropriate to adopt.
