Top-up to Non-Essential Retail
North Kesteven District Council will be making an automatic payment to all successful applicants of the Restart Grant who were paid under the non-essential retail strand of the scheme, we appreciate there is a variance between the two strands set out by Government and want to continue supporting such an important part of our local economy.
This discretionary top-up payment will enable non-essential retail applicants to receive 50% of the equivalent hospitality strand payment. Please be aware that this additional payment will be made from a separate fund and is not part of the Restart Grant scheme we are delivering on behalf of the Government.
An automatic payment to all businesses that have already been paid under the Non-Essential Retail strand will be made today (7 May 2021) and any new applicants will receive a single payment of the higher amount detailed in the matrix below. Please be aware that you must have been registered with business rates on 1 April 2021 to qualify for the Restart Grant.

Restart Grant
The Restart Grant is open for applications. This support is available for businesses post 1 April that are in retail, hospitality, leisure and personal care.
To date, North Kesteven District Council has paid out £3,490,699 in Restart Grants, however we are aware that a number of eligible businesses have not applied. To apply for the Restart Grant please click here.
