A message from Lincolnshire Police

Staying at home doesn't mean you can't commemorate #VEDay75 on Friday.

You can put up the bunting, get out the flags, have a party at home and online with others – there are lots of ways we can still mark this momentous occasion whilst protecting yourselves, others and the NHS.

Be MORE – Be a Good Neighbour

We appreciate times are difficult, more so now than ever before, with more of us spending more time at home.

But, we must remember, not everyone is the same, and the behaviour and activities you consider to be acceptable might slowly start to become a nuisance to your neighbours.

Here’s a guide on how you can be a good neighbour by showing consideration and tolerance to others in your community. READ MORE

Preparation ideas for VE Day

It may not be the VE Day anniversary we expected this Friday, but we can still commemorate the anniversary in our own way.

1.Have a look at the English Heritage ideas website for ideas how to:

  • Make your own real lemonade or ginger beer
  • Learn to dance the ‘lindy hop’ swing
  • Sing along to the ‘Lambeth Walk’
  • Make some delicious cheese and marmite swirls
  • Make some carrot scones.

2. Find out what to watch and tune into.

3. Discover your WW2 history

VE Day - Carlton-le-Moorland

VE Day Carlton

Thanks to Nicola for sending in this photo of Carlton-le-Moorland - 75 years ago, celebrating VE Day.

The cottages in the photo were demolished quite a long time ago, they were on Church Street and ran from the old Post Office across to what is now Hickson's Service & Repair garage.
