We are the North Herts Healthy Hub, a free health and wellbeing support service for residents of North Herts. Whether you're feeling lonely and isolated, struggling with your mental health or looking for some advice on staying healthy and well, we're here to help.

Everyone Active Sporting Champions is BACK for 2025-26
 The Sporting Champions scheme aims to support talented athletes by providing FREE access to Everyone Active's 230+ leisure facilities across the country, alongside mentoring, workshops and support from some of the UK’s most influential athletes, including Gladiator and GB sprint star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey and quadruple Paralympic champion Maisie Summers-Newton. For 2025, they’re looking at hosting more mentoring, webinars and workshop sessions from their sites than ever before!
Applications opened on Tuesday 11th February and close on Tuesday 11th March.

North Herts Citizens Advice looking for volunteer community researchers
Are you passionate about your local area? Interested in people’s stories? Want to help shape the future of Letchworth?
North Herts Citizens Advice are looking for volunteer community researchers from Wilbury, Jackmans, Westbury, or Grange to interview local residents and uncover what makes our community great—and what could be improved.
What You’ll Do: ✅ Attend an induction and training workshops ✅ Interview community members ✅ Record and help analyse findings ✅ Work with a supportive team
What’s in It for You? ✨ Gain research, communication, and teamwork skills ✨ Enhance your CV and employability ✨ Make a real impact in your local community ✨ Receive full training, support, and expense reimbursement
Time Commitment: 📆 4-6 hours per week for three months, starting after training in April.

Fruit Tree Pruning Workshop
March 2 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Are your fruit trees in need of a prune? Do you want to learn the skills to take on the pruning yourself ?
Last chance this winter to learn about fruit tree pruning. Using the apple trees in our community garden as subjects, we will get hands on with pruning technique and the principles behind pruning. If there is time you will also learn how to prune currant bushes, working on our redcurrant and blackcurrant bushes.

Food Photography Workshop
March 8 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Guided by photography expert Steve Granger, using simple techniques, you will learn how to get your food photographs looking ready to eat!
You will learn how to make the most of natural light and inexpensive torches or light panels, no need for lots of expensive gear. Backgrounds, and props will be provided to style your images.
What you’ll need to bring: your camera, a tripod, some food to photograph

The Wildlife of Hitchin, an illustrated talk by nature enthusiast Phil Barron
March 16 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us for a illustrated nature discovery talk on the natural world in and around Hitchin, with local nature enthusiast Phil Barron from Hitchin Nature Network. If you’ve always wondered where to look out for bats, owls, butterflies, moths, newts or slow worms, or to hear a woodpecker or a goldcrest, this is the place to find out!
Phil will take us on a virtual tour of wildlife and sites of interest within the Hitchin orbital path for about 45 minutes, with a chance for questions at the end. Ticket price includes a glass of sparkling Triangle Garden apple juice, tea or coffee, and light refreshments.

Veg Growing Workshop
March 22 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
Want to grow your own veg but don’t know where to start?
Triangle Garden horticultural lead Steve Granger will take you through the basics – seed sowing, what, when, how, soil type, composts, pest protection, weeding, watering, feeding – all you need to know. A mixture of listening, engaging, and doing, in a small group with lots of opportunities to ask questions and interact.

Pub Quiz at The Millstream
March 26 @ 8:00 pm - 10:00 pm
Get your team together and join us for a nature quiz put on by those lovely people at The Millstream to raise funds for Growing Ability our horticulture therapy project for people with additional needs!
Book your table for up to 8 via their website and pay £2 pp to enter the quiz when you arrive. Food is available – the quiz runs from 8-10pm so if you’re going to book a table to eat you may want to book from 7pm. There will be a fundraising raffle in the interval so please bring cash to support our projects! See you there!
