Who are Create Community?
'Our mission is to help support, develop and enrich the lives of people within the community. We see self-worth as feeling positive enough about yourself to be able to take the steps necessary to reach that next goal, overcome that next challenge or simply live a better life. Our activities allow individuals to rediscover what they love, what they enjoy and reconnect with a sense of purpose, achievement and a reason for being.
So, what exactly do we do? Good question. We offer a range of courses, projects/workshops, drop ins, community days, 1-2-1 mentoring and activities to help with personal development, confidence building, digital skills, CVs, Employment and building a sense of self worth to be able to achieve the steps you want to take along this journey we call life!
We’re open 5 days a week, 10am – 3pm and we would love to welcome you at our hub in Letchworth with a nice cuppa and maybe even a chocolate biscuit.
The hardest step sometimes is to walk through the door, but trust me, once you are through, you’ll be pleased with yourself.'
Time to Talk Day - 6 February 2025
Time to Talk Day 2024 revealed that nearly two thirds of the UK public put on a brave face to avoid talking about their mental health. And nearly half of us are less likely to open up as we don't want to worry others in already difficult times.
But talking openly and honestly can be the first step towards better mental health for everyone. It can reduce stigma and help people feel comfortable enough to seek help when they need it.
That's why this Time To Talk Day, we want everyone to get comfortable and start talking about mental health. There are lots of ways to get involved, from sharing on social media using #TimeToTalk and having conversations with your friends and family, to organising activity and events in your community. Here are some suggestions to help you plan how you’ll support Time to Talk Day.
However you do it, make space in your day for a conversation about mental health.
