Eating well
Healthy Eating Week is run by the British Nutrition Foundation and is designed to support and promote healthier lifestyles. This years’ theme is Healthy Eating - For Everyone.
The cost of living crisis continues to have an impact on the affordability of a healthier diet for so many of us. With this in mind, Healthy Eating Week 2023 will focus on providing free, evidence-based advice and support for everyone who wants to find their way to eat a healthier diet regardless of these barriers.

NHS Health Checks
NHS Health Checks are a free health check which can help spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia. They are available to adults aged 40 to 74 years old in England.
In the appointment the health professional will ask you some questions about your lifestyle and family history, measure your height and weight, and take your blood pressure and do a blood test. If you're over 65, you will also be told the signs and symptoms of dementia to look out for. You will then receive personalised advice to improve your risk or a referral will be made to your GP for further support.
Currently there are two available health check locations in the district: North Herts Council Offices, Letchworth and Royston Leisure Centre. You can register for a health check on the Hertfordshire County Council website or call 0800 389 3998 to find out more.
