Eating well
21st February is pancake Tuesday. At the Healthy Hub we love a healthier pancake so here are some of our favourites.
Healthier Families have two yummy recipes - a sultana and carrot pancake and tasty savoury tomato pancake. If you fancy something a little different BBC Good Food have a whole list of healthier pancake options which are sure to get your taste buds tingling. If in doubt, top with some delicious fruit, yogurt and a little drizzle of honey.
Whatever your pancake of choice, we hope it's flipping delicious!

Keeping active
Mental health
Place2Be launched the first ever Children’s Mental Health Week in 2015 to shine a spotlight on the importance of children and young people’s mental health.
This year Children's Mental Health Week is taking place 6-12 February 2022 and the theme is Let's Connect. Place2Be will be encouraging children (and adults) to make healthy, meaningful connections for all, during Children's Mental Health Week - and beyond.
To get involved you can head to the Children's Mental Health Week website where there are loads of resources that can be used by parents, teachers and youth groups as well as ways to get involved in fundraising.

Herts Health Walks is a countywide initiative of free, led walks aimed to encourage people of all ages and abilities to get outdoors, get more active and reap the benefits.
You can find a range of walks for all abilities all across the county.
If you are returning from illness and injury or you haven’t been physically active in a while, then First Steps walks are perfect to get you moving again. The free walks are on flat, smooth paths and guided by qualified volunteers. In North Herts the First Steps walk starts at the Millstream pub in Hitchin every other Tuesday.

Coach Education Week
From 13-19 February, the Herts Sports Partnership is running its annual Coach Education Week creating opportunities for sports coaches and others involved in the sport and physical activity sector, to develop their skills, knowledge, and qualifications around a range of important issues. This year there are workshops on safeguarding, the links between physical activity and mental health, dealing with participants with challenging behaviour, and how practitioners can better include disabled people and those from disadvantaged communities, within their delivery programmes.
