Wednesday 17 July, 9.30 am – 12.30pm 

Optional afternoon activities introduce A Level Tudors at Strangers’ Hall 1.30 - 3.30pm.

Opening Address: Dr Helen Lunnon, the Castle’s Learning Team Manager, ‘Norwich Castle: past, present and future’.

Tour the Castle Keep and discover its history as a Norman fort and royal palace, a Medieval gaol, a 19th Century prison and a present-day museum, plus a presentation on the Castle’s £13.5million redevelopment project.

In addition, discover what the museum can offer Secondary schools during the redevelopment, September 2010 – Easter 2021, including the events:

  • William I, Storming the Castle
  • The Changing Face of Norwich
  • Slavery
  • Norwich in the Industrial Revolution
  • First World War
  • Medicine
  • Crime and Punishment
  • Anglo-Saxon and Norman England
  • Historic Environment.

Refreshments available on arrival (lunch is not included but there is a museum café or plenty of options in Norwich city centre).
