Budget approved

On Monday, the County Council’s 2019-20 budget was approved by Full County Council, following a three-hour meeting. Read more about the budget here.

And on Wednesday night, Norfolk County Council featured in ITV’s lead news story, about a report by the Local Government Information Unit on the financial pressures facing councils. Leader of the Council Andrew Proctor was interviewed by ITV’s national editor, Allegra Stratton.  See here

Living Well – our new approach to adult social work practice in Norfolk continues to roll out successfully.

This week, after attending launch and induction events, our West Community Care Teams and SCCE – the “front door” teams who are generally our first point of contact with the public - went live.  Read on for details of what this means and where to find more info.

Sixth formers essay competition

nplaw are running an essay competition for sixth formers, set up in the memory of former Practice Director Chris Skinner. The prize is £75 and some work experience with nplaw. The closing date is 3 March and you’ll find details of the competition here.

You may well be familiar with the 5 ways to well-being (click here if you aren’t) and this weekend provides the perfect opportunity to follow the “give” way.

Sunday is Random Act of Kindness Day and a great way to improve the well-being in your life, and the life of someone else. Kindness can be directed in many directions – to you, your family, a stranger, your neighbours, your community – and in many ways – a smile, a word, by giving your time, by giving your knowledge, by give some money.

So let’s make Sunday a good day for you and the lucky recipients.
