Childcare for Ukrainian children

Ukraine flag.

We are starting to see the arrival of Ukrainian refugees in North Lincolnshire. You may have parents wishing to start their children in your setting. The current guidance is:

Children arriving in the UK through the Ukraine Family Scheme or the Homes for Ukraine (sponsorship) Scheme will be able to access the Department for Education’s free early education entitlements if they meet the existing eligibility criteria.

Obviously the summer term is fairly full to capacity, so we ask that you think creatively to try and incorporate the children in to your setting until you have a space and/or they are eligible for funding. For instance, you could offer the chance for the parents to ‘stay and play’ with their child as this wouldn’t affect your ratios. If you have a funded child on holiday, you could offer their sessions to an eligible child or you could start them in the summer holidays if you are open and they are eligible.

If you require any further information please contact the team on 01724 298298.

Promote your business for free

Live Well

North Lincolnshire Council has a statutory duty to provide information on local childcare options to parents and carers.  This has been achieved through FIDy but will be moving over to Live Well North Lincolnshire. Live Well North Lincolnshire is an opportunity for you to market your childcare business simply and effectively for free.

A basic record has been added to the website for you in line with information already publicly available through Ofsted. To help parents and carers to make the right choice for their child, and to help you to support your own business, we would like to invite you to add extra details about the service you offer by logging in and updating your record on the directory. We recommend adding your website or Facebook page details so that families can access the most up to date information about your services. You have been emailed guidance to do this.

Please complete as soon as possible and then please make a note to regularly review and update the information.
