The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has published
its Nurseries Outcomes Report and you can
read it here.
The Family Information Service are pleased to inform you that where childcare providers have previously given consent for us to advertise your setting on the internet your details will now be available for the public to view on our
This is in addition to the information which continues to
appear on the North
Lincs Local Offer website.
We would encourage all providers to check that they are
happy with the information that appears on these sites as we can only provide
the public with the information you have given us.
Much of the information can be updated by yourself by
logging on to the ‘Provider Portal’ and clicking on the ‘Self Update’ link. If
there is something you are not able to update please type the change in the
‘Comments for LA’ box on the portal and we will do this for you.
As a reminder this is
also where we ask you to update your vacancy information on a regular basis.
If you need assistance in accessing the ‘Provider Portal’
please contact us on 01724 296629 or email fis@northlincs.gov.uk.
The Family Information Directory is also a great resource
for professionals looking for support services they can signpost families to
where they need extra information and advice.
The site is an improvement on the options we have had
previously to advertise your services online but we do recognise that it is not
perfect. We are working closely with our internal IT department to build our
own online directory for next year and will be consulting with the public and
providers on how you would like this to look so keep an eye out for this for
this in next month’s newsletter.
Please see below a letter from the Get Going programme for all
Early Years providers…
Dear Childcare Provider,
The Get Going programme is a free, healthy lifestyle
programme for young people measured above a healthy weight aged 4 - 16 years old.
The programme has worked with over 580 families in North Lincolnshire since
April 2013 and supports, encourages and motivates the families to make healthy
lifestyle changes, helping reduce the risks of adult obesity, cardiovascular
disease and diabetes.
The programme is delivered by Physical Activity and Health
coaches who work with the child and their families, through individual
appointments and weekly group activity sessions, over an 8 week period (4 - 6
year old's) or 10 weeks (7 - 16 year old's). The appointments are delivered on a 1 to 1 basis, using a personalised
plan with a focus on increasing physical activity levels, providing healthy
eating information and encouraging positive behaviour change.
Should you wish to refer a young person to the programme,
simply complete the referral
form, making the parent or carer aware, and return to us either by post or
email, using the contact details below. We will then contact the families
directly to discuss the programme and arrange for an initial appointment to be
made, keeping you informed of their progress. Please feel free to make
additional copies of the referral form for your use but it will continue to be
available to you on the Early Years Team page of Services for Education.
We can also provide you with some free Get Going promotional
materials for you to display within your premises and, if you feel appropriate,
make readily available to relevant professionals or families along with the
referral form.
If you have any questions, require further resources, or
would like to discuss the programme in more detail, please feel free to contact
me on the details below.
Yours sincerely

Could all providers please be aware that although the normal
timescale for 2 year physical integrated checks is around 2 years 4 months, in
some cases where this deadline has passed there may be opportunities to
undertake the check up to the age of 2
years 6 months.
With this in mind please ensure that if a child is over the
age of 2 years 4 months a conversation takes place with your community nursery
nurse to determine whether the ASQ has yet been completed and if it hasn’t then
a physical review can still be offered.
Families with children aged between 2 and 7 years are
invited to attend a free Young Music Makers Family Concert at Frederick Gough
School on Saturday 16 June at 11am.
Tickets are free but places must be booked in
advance here.
