Celebrate Book Week Scotland

Libraries across North Lanarkshire will welcome customers to a variety of free event as part of Book Week Scotland, a national celebration of reading, including author visit, special activities and film screenings.

Highlights of the celebration include a visit from author and radio presenter, Stuart Cosgrove to Motherwell Library (20 Nov), to talk about Harlem 69: The Future of Soul, the third book in his acclaimed Soul Trilogy;

Crime novelist and author of the popular Detective Inspector McLean series, James Oswald, will make an appearance at Wishaw Library (20 Nov) to talk about his latest novel, Gathering Dark.

On 21 November, including Bernard MacLaverty, acclaimed author of Midwinter Break (Coatbridge Library) and Lin Anderson, discussing Sins of the Dead, the latest outing for fictional forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod (Bellshill Cultural Centre).

Local author Thomas Welsh, an award-winning fantasy and short story author will also visit Wishaw Library to talk about his novel, Anna Undreaming.
