The corridors and classrooms of North Lanarkshire's newest school have sprung into life with the arrival of over 600 youngsters.

Thursday 28 January marked a major milestone in the construction of the new Clyde Valley High School, the first 'all-through' campus in North Lanarkshire, with secondary pupils enjoying their first day at the new school.

The Wishaw campus will eventually be home to nursery, primary and secondary pupils. There will also be a Language and Communication support Centre for autistic pupils.

Nick Quail, Head Teacher of Clyde Valley High School praised staff and pupils for their enthusiastic reaction to the new school.

He said: "Everyone has been so positive about the new building - there have been so many smiling faces. Our staff have gone above and beyond in their efforts to ensure everything was ready for pupils moving in. The building itself has a really warm, classy feel to it with stylish wood finishing and superb use of natural light.
