Do your Pulse Survey today!
It’s your last chance to have your say in the National Quarterly Pulse Survey as the deadline closes tomorrow (Tuesday 31 January).
It only takes three minutes and contains 12 questions focused on staff experience.
If you haven't already completed it, you should have received a reminder email in your NHS inbox today.
Currently, our Clinical Coding (91%), Fracture Clinic (73%) and Medical Physics (67%) teams have the highest response rate for this survey. The team with the highest response rate wins a hamper so fill yours out to give your team the best chance of winning.
The Quarterly Pulse Survey is an opportunity to capture an ‘in-the-moment’ check-in on the workforce. These regular checks help the Trust map long-term trends and provides the ability to compare previous quarter results in a consistent and standardised manner.
All responses to the survey are strictly confidential. Picker is an external research company who collect and analyse the results independently on behalf of North Mid.
Director of HR and OD Mark Vaughan visited Tower wards, serving tea, coffee, and biscuits, while encouraging staff to complete their survey last week.
If you want to find out more about the Pulse Survey or the National Staff Survey please email the OD team, orgdevteam.northmid@nhs.net

Our Infection, Prevention and Control guidance has changed around testing for covid-19.
Staff no longer need to report a positive test to occupational health but should continue testing if they show symptoms or if they come into contact with someone who has tested positive.
If you test positive on a lateral flow test, please do not come to work, and take another test on day five after your symptoms started (or the first positive test was taken).
You must have two consecutive negative lateral flow tests (taken at least 24 hours apart) before you can return to work.
If someone in your household has tested positive, you can work as usual and must do a lateral flow test every day for seven days before you come to work.
If you are a contact (not household) of someone who has tested positive for covid-19, you can work as usual, but you must do a lateral flow test two times over one week.
Occupational health colleagues remain available to advise all staff on sickness including Covid-19.

Due to severe winter weather and strong winds at height, the operational opening of our new MSCP – located next to the maternity building – has been delayed until late February.
The adverse weather has delayed the arrival of key equipment such as the crane which some of you will have seen in place, as well as concrete pours for surfacing works.
Following discussions with the contractor Carter, we have agreed a new target opening date of Tuesday 28 February 2023 – just three weeks later than originally planned.
We hope to follow with an official opening in the Spring.

Parents, carers and families from Haringey and Enfield were treated to an event full of fun, information, support and awareness all thanks to our amazing ABC Parents.
Partnering up with Haringey Public Health, the team ran an event last Friday to mark this year's Great Mental Health Day.
On the day, local organisations, community groups, charities and more had information stalls so parents and carers had access to specialist support and more information.
Stall holders included NHS Blood and Transport, local mental health services for parents and adults, breast cancer awareness, health food and life tips for children and young people, ABC Parents and more.
Also on offer for attendees was fitness sessions, arts and craft fun with their little ones and health and wellbeing sessions.

We have extended our Team Brief survey for a further week so we can hear more from more of you across the Trust.
We share important and interesting information about what’s going on at North Mid through a variety of communication channels, and we want to be sure we’re keeping Trust-wide communications relevant and responsive to staff needs.
We’re looking for feedback to help us refresh and revise Team Brief, and want your help!
Take two minutes to tell us what’s right for you in our short survey that can be found here - it is open until Sunday 5 February.

The cost of living crisis continues to have an impact on us all in one way or another and to help, further support and access to resources to help with financial solutions is available for NHS staff.
Haringey Council have provided a support guide, Cavell Nurses Trust provides financial hardship support to nurses, midwives, HCAs and nursing associates and London Capital Credit Union can help you save money.
The Credit Union is a savings and loans co-operative dedicated to promoting saving rather than borrowing. It also provides low cost loans at times of need.

To mark 75 years of the NHS, North Mid Charity is looking for 75 enthusiastic members of Team North Mid to take on a challenge all in aid of raising money for the charity.
Think runs, walks, jumps, climbs, bakes, competitions, events - anything and everything that will help you raise as much money as possible.
All funds raised will help support and enhance life at North Mid for both patients and staff. The Charity has funded a wide range of projects including purchasing an £8,000 Omi projector to help our older patients and funding last year's Christmas hampers for staff.
If you're interested, get in touch with Mete Redif, head of the Charity. Struggling to think of any challenges? Don't worry, we can help with that.
We can also support you to fundraise, so that you can focus on what might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience whilst raising lots of money for a great cause.

Teams across the hospital have been hosting stalls in recent weeks including charity bake sales, information stalls and more.
All stall bookings need to be booked and agreed in advance and need to follow IPC and fire regulations, in order manage space and people flow safely.
If you and your team would like to book an information stall in our hospital’s atrium to promote a specific campaign, please email northmid.stallsbooking@nhs.net with your preferred date and times. Visit My North Mid’s events calendar for more information.
