Letter to service users and carers
Monday 25 November 2024
Dear All,
I hope you are well and keeping warm during this recent snap of cold weather.
I have positive developments to tell you about since the last time I wrote to you, as well as flagging some exciting opportunities and events which may be of interest.
Our new North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) has been in operation for a month now. I'm pleased to share that work is already well underway and steps are being taken towards realising our ambitions for the new Trust.
We are committed to continuing to work closely with our service users, carers, staff, Governors and local partners, to help us achieve our vision of ‘Better Mental Health, Better Lives and Better Communities’ for local people. Our new NLFT will help us in providing better care for those we serve.
Once again, I would like to invite you to join our NLFT membership community. Please sign up to be the first to hear about upcoming events, receive exclusive updates, enjoy NHS discounts, and get involved in our Governor elections. It’s quick, free, and a great way to support mental health, have your voice heard and help make a difference! Find out more here.
Join us for a free talk on all things ADHD, with leading expert Dr Ramya Srinivasa
Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects millions worldwide, but clear information about its impact on individuals or their loved ones is not always easily available.

Everyone who is interested in learning more about ADHD is welcome and this event is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable insights from a leading expert in the field.
Dr Ramya Srinivasa is an experienced clinical academic child and adolescent psychiatrist with specialised expertise in ADHD. This event is designed to increase awareness and understanding of ADHD, from its symptoms to the nuances of its presentation across different ages and genders and will cover:
An overview of ADHD and its impact on individuals
Common symptoms and signs of ADHD
How ADHD can present differently in children, adolescents, and adults, and its unique characteristics in males and females
A detailed explanation of the ADHD assessment process
Become a member today to help shape the future of mental healthcare across North London
Our aim as the new North London NHS Foundation Trust is to deliver top-quality mental health services across North London and we want you to be able to have your say.
Every Foundation Trust has members, who receive frequent updates from the Trust and are able to stand and vote in governor elections. The elected governors regularly meet with our board as decisions are being made to help shape the future of the Foundation Trust.
Before merging to become North London Foundation Trust, C&I was a Foundation Trust and already has members, who are already members of the new Trust. However, BEH was not a foundation Trust, so we don't yet have members from Barnet, Enfield, or Haringey.
If you live any of the five boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, or Islington, or have used our services in the last five years or care for somebody who has, you are eligible to sign up to become a member, for free, today!
Recruiting public members for the new NHS Foundation Trust is essential to ensure community representation and improve service delivery. A diverse membership fosters stronger connections with the community.
Camden Community Services open day - Wednesday 27 November at St Pancras Hospital
Central North West London NHS Foundation Trust's (CNWL) Camden Community Services team will be hosting an Open Day on Wednesday 27 November at our very own St Pancras Hospital.
They will be showcasing the innovative work happening right here in North Central London, while also giving you a chance to find out more about the services they offer and meet the staff who deliver them.
Although provided by another Trust, these services are on our patch and may be of interest to you.
What to expect The day will be packed with opportunities to learn and connect. Attendees will have the chance to meet and speak with our teams and see demonstrations of innovative care approaches. There will also be some presentation sessions.
You can find out more from our staff about community roles such as nursing, rehabilitation, end-of-life care, frailty and more.
Presentations: Hear directly from our community health leaders and teams who are driving forward our integrated care models and working alongside local partners
Interactive stalls: Engage in hands-on demonstrations and learn about the latest tools and techniques our teams use
Networking: Meet representatives from primary care, acute care, and local authorities, and discover the ways we’re working together to enhance service delivery
We marked Remembrance Day at North London Foundation Trust on Monday 11 November with a service at St Pancras Hospital and by laying wreathes at the memorial at Mornington Crescent in north London.
Lots of members of the Veterans' Service, staff and some visitors from the Tavistock and Portman and the Central and North West London Foundation (CNWL) Trusts gathered in the conference centre at St Pancras for a service led by our chaplain, Liz.
We marked the minutes' silence at 11am and then processed to the memorial at Mornington Crescent to lay some wreathes on the monument, before returning to St Pancras for refreshments.
Please get in touch with your service contact if you ever feel in need of greater support. We are here to care for you. Please look after yourself and support those around you when possible.
